How do I register to vote? What do I do when I go to my polling place? What is a precinct, anyway? These questions and more will be answered at this non-partisan program. Pizza will be provided!
Registration Required
Library staff will provide an interactive presentation for high school students interested in learning about the voting process. Voter registration, polling place procedures, absentee voting, and voter rights at the polls will be covered. This program will be entirely non-partisan, focusing on the voting process only and will not provide information on specific candidates.
If you will be 17.5 or older on the date of this program, you may be able to complete your online voter registration on computers provided during this program. If you are interested in doing this, please bring a valid Michigan Driver's License or State ID card.
While this information may be most immediately relevant to teens who will turn 18 on or before the November 5, 2024 election, all high schoolers are welcome to attend!
Pizza, pop, and snacks will be provided.
This program will be held in the Long Lake and Gourdneck Lake meeting rooms in the lower level of the library. If you're not sure where to go, stop by the youth services desk in the lower level and we'll direct you to the room.
Accessibility:
A ramp is available at the library's front entrance and both of the facility's elevators access the lower level where this program is held. Seating will be available throughout the program.
Please feel free to bring headphones, fidgets, or any other sensory tools you may need.
