Javier Zamora is coming to Kalamazoo to talk about his book and this year's Reading Together selection: "Solito"
Reading Together is a community read event done in conjunction with other local libraries in the area. Join us on Saturday, March 15th at CHENERY AUDITORIUM from 3 PM - 4 PM as Javier Zamora gives a presentation where he discusses his book and this year's selection, Solito.
Solito has been selected for many "best books of the year" lists, book clubs, and has won or been longlisted for multiple awards. A young poet tells the inspiring story of his migration from El Salvador to the United States at the age of nine in this “gripping memoir” (NPR) of bravery, hope, and finding family.
Javier Zamora is the award-winning, New York Times bestselling author of Unaccompanied and Solito. He has been a Stegner Fellow at Stanford and a Radcliffe Fellow at Harvard and holds fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and Poetry Foundation.
All participants are welcome. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact Sara Weyenberg at sweyenberg@portagelibrary.info or (269) 585-8710 in advance of your visit.
